Monte Altuzzo

The rock outcropping is known today as Peabody's Peak, named after Capt. Maurice E. Peabody, Jr., 338th Infantry, Company B commander. During the battles for Monte Altuzzo, Capt. Peabody led his men to this point in one of many attempts to reach the top of Monte Altuzzo. The cross on the top of Monte Altuzzo is just barely visible to the left of the outcropping.
