The 337th Infantry Regiment in Italy During WWII

Col. Oliver Hughes (later Brigadier General) Records

Col. Hughes was the Commanding Officer of the 337th during its entire service in Italy. I received these photos and copies of the final offensive orders from Col. Hughes' granddaughter. In addition, these 85th Div. General Orders track Col. Hughes assumption of command of the 337th and his receipt of the Silver Star. I believe the photo with Gen. Mark Clark is when he received his Silver Star but the enscription is very dificult to read.
